THE ELEPHANT ON MARS

The title of these rings makes direct reference to a famous pareidolia effect.
The word Pareidolia refers to a human characteristic of perceiving in an object or something else, a meaning that does not actually exist. This happens when we detect a face in things like rock formations, vegetation, objects, clouds or in signs and spots on various surfaces.
The relevance of Pareidolia for this body of work is that the perception of someone is able to transform an object into something familiar and personal. Each ring is unique and what is represented on its front suggests to the wearer something recognizable.
